I personally had a very hard choice between 6 entries. If all judges had the same issue as me, I think a few points will determine the winner from the rest. But from my experience, judges often have complitely different points of view, so I personally wouldn't bet on one single entry in this case.

I am really happy with how much effort went into the entries and how beautiful they turned out.

P.S. We are waiting for one judge to finish.

Everyone starts somewhere. Pretty sure I did something similar (tunnel extension from spawn) when I first started.

Thanks Detech, for running such a great competition. It's a shame there were few entrants, but we can learn for next time. Thanks also to the judges for doing the hard part and scoring each entry. Finally, thanks and congratulations (again!) to Tacerdog for all the pictures.

    Scores for the EXPERT COMP:
    image

    First Place (88.5/100)
Entry #5 - racerdog - The Great Temple of Une
    Location: Venus (world center)
Story: The Une Pipe has been ignored as a humble steam conduit and an unwanted painting. We have been so wrong. The Great Temple of Une has been discovered on Venus. Come see the pipe in its true exalted nature and pay homage to the glory of UNE. CAUTION: If you have ever uttered a disparaging word upon finding an Une Pipe Painting, the guardian will sense unworthiness and unleash an army of automata to dispose of your foul presence.
    image

    Second Place (84/100)
Entry #8 – Firelore (AMWhy) – The Great Clock
    Location: The Great Clock (spawn)
Story: The Giant Clock was completed by renowned clock maker Sir Thomas Harrison in time for the fated World's Fair. Due to the size, it was impossible to take the landmark to the fair so it was instead to be visited by the brightest minds after the fair had ended. The singularity and the arrival of the brains meant that never happened. Instead, the Clock was locked from the inside. It is claimed that Thomas Harrison was buried within, but with no way to get inside, this was impossible to verify. Until now. Now, 25 years after it's completion, a door has opened...
    image

    Third Place (79/100 +++-)
Entry #15 - Chuuya (Redolant) - The Oil Rig
Location: Port Mafia (526 east, 30 above)
Story: After the brain invasion, the lands were uninhabitable. There could be no sanctuary located on land - so we took to the seas. Using the already built oil rigs, many have relocated here for safety. However with the minimum space there, living will be difficult. Featuring the necessities: shelter, food, water, clothing, and leisure activities. There is a tavern, clinic, casino, and more. We have also reformed the preconstructed drill tower into a telecommunications tower, which is always looking out for invaders and other settlements.
    image

    Fourth Place (79/100 +---)
    Entry #7 – Mihir - Abandoned Village
    Location: Mihir (spawn)
Story: An abandoned village which was left due to paranormal activity, and sightings of ghosts.
    image

    Fifth Place (75/100)
Entry #9 – Fanta (ItzYeBoiNub) – The Final Hope
Location: Mihir (852 West, 25 Up)
Story: A few years after the World Fair and the rise of the brains, a human outpost noticed something strange in the sky. Any scouts sent up came back on fire, but some theorized it was some kind of flying brain boat. When it started deploying brains, they knew they were in trouble.
After a long fight, the ship was captured, but the defenses remained online. The humans did not see this as a victory, but as the beginning of something terrible.
    image

    Sixth Place (72/100)
Entry #12 - WalrusLord - Abandoned Mining Op.
Location: Walrus Land (293 west, 75 above)
Story: Brass and iron were and are some of the most used materials then. Of course, someone had to supply the demand. And a big supplier was Bulkan Brass & Steel. With mines all across Europe at the time, mining for copper, zinc, and iron. Here is a glimpse at one of their smaller mining operations, with heavy machinery still left behind after the attack of the brains.
    image

    Seventh Place (71/100 ++++)
Entry #13 - ZetaroEmperror - JP Mysterious Place
Location: Design HQ (229 west, 183 above)
Story: It’s about my imaginary japanese mysterious place with japanese castle in the middle, heaven on top and dragon fossil under the sand.
    image

    Eight Place (71/100 ----)
    Entry #11 - Infiniti - Oakland District
Location: Deepgate - Oakland District (296 west, 82 above)
Story: This project was originally started way back in 2015 just for fun, It has changed lots over the years... Its crazy how time flys. I hope to continue this world and maybe even have it be used by Bytebin one day!
    image

    Ninth Place (65.5/100)
    Entry #14 - Mofc1991- Floating Palace
Location: Landmark Competition (19 east, 170 above)
Location: Landmark Competition (19 east, 170 above)
Story Behind It-A lonely palace sat still on the high hills of west wittlestan to then be forcefully pushed from the ground due to a high level natural disaster to then be left floating alongside its fellow towers.
The palace was originally built to hold the highest of valuables before a huge outbreak of brains left the building to die and rust with no one finding it for years and years.

It looks like a decision has been made, after judges who took the effort to vote, have voted.
Unanimously they have decided that Ryan_123 has took THE LEAST EFFORT on his entry!
    image

Up against Ryan_123 was Pablo54, who judges decided has put in the effort to make an entry, but just forgot to add interior furniture. Otherwise they say Pablo's entry is quite solid!
    image

Pablo prize for LEAST EFFORT goes to Ryan_123
  • PatrickRPatrickR Posts: 134Member

FREE STUFF, I could’ve made a brass block as my entry and gotten free onyx.

Who gets editors pick, rising star and most effort??

  • DetechDetech Toronto, CanadaPosts: 2,140Member

We have agreed with judges that these prizes, especially the most effort one are impossible to ditermine without extreem bias.

These awards shall go to the next official comp, since most of them would go to someone who already got a prize anyways.

  • RyanT_123RyanT_123 Posts: 9Member

@Detech on second thought please regard my last comment above, I insist the reward goes to Pablo, he deserves it after all. So please give Pablo the reward instead :)

If anyone sees Chuuya ( @Redolant ), Infiniti and Romyrjohnandrei please let them know I am looking for them to award them their prize.

Also, does anyone know who Romyrjohnandrei is?
  • TheBlindEyeTheBlindEye Posts: 684Member
I’ll be taking the one taking the price with romyjohnandrei since he was the one who built it a long time ago to my request in my world. My ign is jsean... quite busy lately but I’ll try to be on line this week.
