(of a person, animal, or plant) living, not dead.
"hopes of finding anyone still alive were fading"
synonyms: living, live, having life, not dead;
antonyms: dead, extinct, inanimate
continuing in existence or use.
"keeping hope alive"
synonyms: active, existing, in existence, existent, extant, functioning, in operation, ongoing, going on, continuing, surviving, persisting, remaining, abiding;
antonyms: inactive, obsolete
That depends on your perspective.
Clinically speaking, if you're not alive, you're not living.
And that means if you're not living you're not alive, thus you're dead
If you're clinically dead, that means you're not alive OR living.
however, the original statement was "you live"
and seeing as "living" and "alive" in that statement are pretty much synonyms..
Unless alpha was saying "you live" as in "watch this show on live television".. but I don't think that's what he meant.
