Noooooo for some reason I carry around a Samsonite 70's briefcase in school instead of a backpack, and someone bumped into me while walking and it hit a wall and the corner cracked...

I carried a vintage briefcase in school. Tell people the crack is from someone who tried to take it from you. Their face looks worse.

Reminds me of a story I read where some chick had her dead dog in a briefcase and some dude walked up and asked what was inside it. Chick said it was a laptop, so the guy snatched it and ran off.

Why was she carrying her dead dog around?

Maybe she was going to bury it?

There's a kid in my one psych course who typed all his notes on a typewriter. The clackity clacking would echo through the lecture hall of 500 people

Super unfortunate to hear about the briefcase though. Perhaps you can add a snazzy patch to it or spruce it up a bit

No idea why she was carrying around her dead dog, but as RedMan said, probably was taking it somewhere to be buried or something

  • Just spent the weekend on the USS Yorktown (CV-10). Dang, I sure wish I could have seen those ships when they were still fighting...

      Those things are pretty big.
    • PIPTR0
      PIPTR0
It was huge. It's a same they have 80%-90% of the ship closed off due to general disrepair, rusting, etc.
    • tjergoz
      tjergoz
i'd rather live in a time where such ships are not necesarry :P

Nontheless are they magnificant pieces of history that must be preserved for future generations.

They might have been machines of war, but they have this air of beauty that you can only get by having something so large and intimidating. It really is a sight to behold, standing on the bridge looking out into Charleston against the sunrise.
    • tjergoz
      tjergoz
True. But because they are machjnes of war, we must preservere them, so that future generations will never forget the horrific time that these ships had to be used. And btw I totally agree with you, they look very imposing.
