Problem with mechanical trapdoors and timed switches.

I am making a parkour world and would like to add an easy mode. The most efficient way to do this is with trapdoors that can be activated with a timed switch.

Naturally, when you place a timed switch then a trapdoor, hitting the switch will cause the trapdoor to open

We need to change this so that pressing the switch will close the trapdoor.

This can be done by these steps:

-set the timed switch and trapdoor as desired.
-remove the trapdoor, but remember the spot.
-place a normal switch.
-place the trapdoor back on the same spot.
-flick the normal switch once to open the trapdoor.
-remove the normal switch.

This works and now when the timed switch is pressed, the trapdoor, initially open, will now close.
This also works for advanced trapdoors and doors and they can be set to any state you want.

So what is the problem?

The problem is that the trapdoors are not resetting after the timer has finished. i haven't tested with mechanical doors yet but guess it's the same.

Is this something that can be fixed easily?

    Mine the switch, and change worlds or restart the game.
    That usually fixes the problem for me.

    Ah! That sounds promising. I'll try it now.

    Nope. A lovely idea but it didn't work at all unfortunately.
